Introduction
Forage triticale is a versatile cereal which is a cross between wheat and ryecorn. Forage triticale can provide grazing for all animal types; can be taken at different stages of development for cereal silage or a mixture of the two depending on sowing time and management.
It combines high production with high quality and can offer different nutritional benefits depending on the stage the plant is cut for silage e.g. green chop vs. whole crop cereal silage (protein vs. carbohydrates).
