Steve Davie
Hari Hari

“Nick has been very good with his advice with pasture preparation, insecticides etc and doing the job right to get a good crop with a good yield.”

Disappointed with the pastures on his farm and looking for help, Hari Hari dairy farmer, Steve Davie, is pleased he was introduced to his local Seed Force™ Territory Manager.

Steve and his son, Gavin, milk 450 cows in South Westland. Several years ago their local retail rep suggested they talk to Seed Force™ Territory Manager, Nick Appelman, about their re-grassing programme.

“Having never cropped before, he (Nick) set up the guidelines to try to do the job properly,” Steve says.

They put in a winter crop of SF Voltage, medium kale, and Steve says the results were very good, considering the wet and stony ground.

Prior to that they put in several paddocks of oats as part of their re-grassing programme. They had one paddock in Finesse tall fescue and one in SF Stellar™ perennial ryegrass.

“Having done it properly it really pointed out the success you could have in re-grassing, if you do it properly.”

“Nick has been very good with his advice with pasture preparation, insecticides etc and doing the job right to get a good crop with a good yield.”

Steve describes the service and results he has had as “better than excellent”.

“I’ve never had that kind of help and assistance and in-depth advice from a rep before. I’m keen on his knowledge and the way he imparts it on to people.

“I can’t believe a person of Nick’s calibre and knowledge would spend his time on the West Coast because we’re very isolated.”
